We are located in Winchester Virginia,
between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. North Branch Farm was established in 2001. Our goal is to breed and raise top quality black angus cattle. Our original herd was hand picked from reputiable farmers that
also strive to produce high quality beef. Artifical insemination is a part of our program and we choose bulls for several characteristics and genetics. The bulls that we choose must be genetically superior and possess specific traits such as: carcass merit, quality grade, tenderness and feed efficiency.
Our herd is registered with the American Angus Association and we are members of the Virginia Angus Association.
Our calves are born and raised on pasture and recieve recommended immunizations, tagged and left to grow in the pastures along side the cow. When the calves are weaned they are turned out on pasture and recieve the recommended minerals and are supplimented with locally grown corn. They are never in a feed lot. Antibiotics are only used if necessary, we do not use any steroids or growth hormones and we don't have to. The cows and bulls we use are bred to produce healthy calves that grow and mature naturally.
We also raise Quarter Horses for pleasure riding and cutting and reining.
